Responsibilities
- Responsible for all tax related matters of the US Group
- Oversee, review, approve and sign all federal and state corporate income and non-income tax returns
- Manage the preparation of annual transfer pricing reports and ensure related party transactions are carried out at arm’s length
- Manage the preparation of monthly corporate tax provisions; substantiate & reconcile all tax accounts
- Manage the preparation, review and approval of nexus reserve calculations, annual financial statements footnote disclosures and accompanying memos pertaining to valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, etc.
- Manage all tax related audits – independent auditor, federal, state, internal; handle all tax-related notices and inquiries
- Collaborate with Operations on 1099 US information reporting and 1042S foreign information reporting & withholding in FIS
- Collaborate with various teams (US and foreign affiliates) on tax related matters
- Responsible for meeting deadlines for all tax related deliverables – provision, tax returns, tax payments, tax audits.
- Responsible for monitoring proposed and newly enacted tax legislation and its impact
- Ensure effective use of outside tax preparers and advisors, manage engagement letters, SOWs and budgets
- Ensure tax compliance is in line with Firm’s risk appetite
- Attend weekly Managers meeting; meet with CFO on a regular basis to discuss tax matters
- Manage and mentor tax team members
Qualifications
- 15 years of work experience, strong financial services background (knowledge and experience in Broker/Dealer tax issues)
- Bachelor/Master in Accounting/Finance
- CPA
- FINRA SIE/Series 99 (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Proficient knowledge of GAAP & tax accounting
- Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Strong management and organizational skills, proactive, loyal; ability to work in fast paced environment independently and as part of a team; experience in managing a team
Salary – $1750,000 – $200,000 pending experience

The candidate will be required to take ownership of all processes related to Tax information Reporting and serve as subject matter expert on all aspects of Tax operations. This includes validation of tax forms such as W9/W8, filing self-certifications with foreign counterparties, creating strategies for document retention efforts and submitting weekly withholdings to the IRS. The candidate will also be responsible for communicating internally with our Legal and Compliance teams and coordinating responses to external counterparties.
The position requires daily communication with our corporate actions team to ensure proper tax treatment of accounts within our custody business. These communications include the understanding of reporting and withholding of dividend payments, stock loan portfolio interest and collateral interest reporting (for repo, MBS and Futures). The candidate must have expertise in customer account coding as it relates to tax information reporting. The candidate will be responsible for timely issuance of 1099 and 1024s as required by federal law.
Qualifications:
1. Proactive approach to daily duties.

3. 5+years of Tax Information Reporting and Withholding (1099, 1024S) experience specific to assets under custody.

Job Summary:
Daiwa Capital Markets Americas (DCMA) is launching a new business process improvement initiative as part of its digital transformation journey, and we are seeking an experienced Program Manager to oversee program and initiative tracking. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that business process improvement initiatives are clearly defined, executable and prioritized; for communicating program and initiative status to executive management and stakeholders; and for ensuring new developments are optimally designed and positioned for operational success. As this is a newly forming group, the role will be responsible for establishing a change framework including deliverables and artifacts to consistently manage change within the organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage program and project communications and stakeholder engagement to ensure all project stakeholders are informed of project progress, risks, and issues.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Project Management, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on program tracking.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Strong organizational, planning, and leadership skills, and a natural team player.
