Daiwa Capital Markets America Achieves Prestigious WELL Platinum Certification for New U.S. Headquarters at 1251 Avenue of the Americas

Newsroom

New York, NY — July 27, 2026 — Daiwa Capital Markets America (DCMA) is proud to announce that its new U.S. headquarters at 1251 Avenue of the Americas has officially been awarded WELL Platinum Certification, the highest level of recognition under the International WELL Building Institute’s WELL Building Standard.

WELL Platinum Certification is an exceptional global distinction, achieved by only a select number of buildings worldwide. It represents the pinnacle of healthy-building performance across 10 key categories — air, water, light, nourishment, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind, and community.

Achieving Platinum certification requires not just meeting all mandatory WELL preconditions but also earning 80 or more points through a combination of policy, design, operations, and occupant experience strategies. DCMA’s new headquarters exceeded this threshold through a comprehensive wellness-driven approach to workplace design, construction, and operations.

As part of this achievement, DCMA emphasizes that the headquarters building was the result of a deeply collaborative design and engineering process. The project brought together internal stakeholders, design architects MKDA, Jack Green Associates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design, Socotec (WELL consultant), and Cerami & Associates for acoustical design. This multi‑disciplinary partnership ensured that every aspect of the workplace—from air filtration and lighting quality to acoustic comfort and ergonomics—was meticulously aligned with both WELL Platinum requirements and DCMA’s vision for a healthy, high‑performance environment.

“This certification reflects our commitment to creating a workplace that puts the well-being of our people at the forefront,” said Keiji Machida, Chairman, Daiwa Capital Markets America. “Our new headquarters was designed to support health, comfort, and productivity at every level, reinforcing DCMA’s dedication to excellence, innovation, and sustainability.”

The WELL Platinum recognition follows a detailed third‑party performance verification process, including on-site testing of air and water quality, acoustic and thermal comfort measurements, lighting assessments, and a robust review of company-wide policies supporting health and wellness. DCMA’s efforts included enhanced air filtration, wellness-focused amenities, ergonomic workstations, sustainable materials, and strengthened community engagement and mental well-being practices.

Platinum Certification places DCMA among an elite group of global organizations recognized for leadership in human-centered workplace design. It also underscores the firm’s broader ESG objectives by demonstrating measurable investment in the health, performance, and satisfaction of its workforce.
